This talk will present how the technological evolution of hardware and software will make the Internet of Things ubiquitous and the problems and impacts that we can expect from its massive use in our society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography of the Speaker:<\/strong><br \/>\nAntonio Loureiro holds a Bachelor&#8217;s and Master&#8217;s (UFMG) and PhD in Computer Science (University of British Columbia, Canada). His research is focused on distributed computing with an emphasis on computer networks, urban computing, mobile\/pervasive computing, and the Internet of Things. He collaborates with researchers at different institutions in Brazil and abroad, participates in RD&#038;I projects with Brazilian and foreign companies, and regularly gives lectures in different national and international forums. He graduated more than 70 masters and 20 doctors (four of them received the CAPES Thesis Award), received several awards for his work, being one of the most cited Brazilian researchers in the area.
